Hot foil stamping process
1) Hot stamping text and patterns on flat products.
This form is the most common. The product itself does not contain any type of graphics and text. To perform bronzing on it, it is necessary to make a graphic-text silicone template or a metal template. Bronzing relies on the difference in pressure and temperature to form graphics on the surface of the product. 2) Foil stamping on the raised part of the flat product.
This form is more common in the plastic hot stamping industry. During injection molding, graphics and text can be engraved on the mold, so that the injection molded product has a raised part. In order to express enough eye-catching metal features on the raised part, a flat hot stamping machine is an important option. At this time, you only need to paste a flat silicone plate on the hot plate of the hot stamping machine. Obviously, the raised part will be in contact with the ironing plate to transfer the foil, and the non-contact part will not transfer the foil.
3) Bronzing on non-planar products.
In order to increase the difficulty of imitation, many plastic products or resin products avoid using flat structures, and use spherical or smooth curved special-shaped surfaces. If you want to perform hot stamping on such products, in addition to making rigid support fixtures, the production and product shape A highly consistent silicone mold becomes extremely important. Due to the shrinkage of injection molding products, there may be obvious size differences between the design draft provided by the user and the actual product. To complete exquisite bronzing, it is necessary to make a very complicated silicone mold, and make fine adjustments based on the actual size of the product and the deformation rules of the design draft. The adjustment on non-planar products has stricter requirements on the pressure and balance, and the use of metal plates should be avoided.
4) Embossed embossing
Embossing embossing is an excellent representative of the paper foil stamping process, which requires embossed stamping patterns on the paper. The most obvious feature of concave-convex embossing is the use of two upper and lower sub-molds that are opposite to each other. The upper mold is a concave copper plate mold, and the lower mold is a graphic resin mold. During the embossing process, the concave die and the convex die press the paper tightly, and the embossed hot stamping pattern will be formed on the contact part of the hot stamping paper and the concave die.

1.Roller-to-Flat Hot Stamping

H-150M and H-300M belong to this type.

The flat-to-roller hot stamping press,is suitable to decorate the round objects,such as plastic cap, ball-point pen,soft tube,round dial,golf cue,cosmetic box and food plastic packaging. H-TC50K, H-TC70K, H-TC100K belong to this type.

Silicon rubber rubber is used in the processes of flat-to flat hot stamping and flat-to-roller technology,and silicon rubber roller in the rotary hot stamping and roller-to-flat process.They function as heat transferring and pressure offset. 1.Heat Transferring
In the processes of hot stamping and heat-transfer technology,the adhesive on the top layer of the foil or heat-transfer material is melt by the heat transfered over a silicon rubber plate/silicon rubber roller and the graphic is achieved on the objects.
2.Pressure Offset
In the processes of hot stamping and heat-transfer technology,silicon rubber plate or silicon rubber roller can provide the plastic objects with the pressure offset during the process.Therefore,they are usually used to decorate the more rigid objects rather than paper and films.
3.Color
There are a few colors for these silicon rubber plate and silicon rubber roller,eg.red,white,yellow,black,etc.,among which,red silicon rubber is the most popular in the hot stamping process.
4.Rigidity
Rigidity,is a key factor for the elastic substance,such as rubber.So is silicon rubber plate or silicon rubber roller.Rigidity,indicates the elastic substance's ability to resist to the physical force.More rigid,less distorting under the same physical force.Therefore,under the same physical force,a more rigid silicon rubber plate or silicon rubber roller can produce the more sharp and accurate texts or graphics.You can utilize a Shawn sclerometer to test the rigidity of silicon rubber plate or silicon rubber roller.
5.Thickness
Usually,silicon rubber plate consists of aluminum backing and silicon rubber layer,which are fixed together through a layer of metal-nonmetal adhesive.Thicker the aluminum backing,more even the rigidity of the silicon rubber plate/roller.The less thicker aluminum backing means flexibility,which means to readily setup the silicon rubber plate/roller's position for the operator.

Embossed hot stamping is a more difficult process in the hot stamping process. As the name suggests, it needs to form a hot stamping pattern with a certain three-dimensional structure on the surface of a special paper with different heights and low levels. Embossed hot stamping is widely used in the packaging of high-end gifts, wine boxes and artworks, and it is an important means to increase the added value of products.
Embossed hot stamping has high requirements for the pressure of the hot stamping machine, generally requiring a pressure of at least 5 tons. In order to withstand high pressure, the hot plate and workbench of the hot stamping machine are forged with high-strength bearing steel. Embossed hot stamping also requires the precise cooperation of the upper and lower molds. The upper mold is generally processed by a copper plate precision CNC engraving machine, and the lower mold is made of a resin plate. The copper mold and the resin mold are two matching parts of a template, which requires high Precision.
The hot stamping machine used in relief hot stamping can be an electric hot stamping machine, a hydraulic hot stamping machine or a high-pressure pneumatic hot stamping machine.
The transfer process of hot stamping paper in contact with the product under the action of heat and pressure is hot stamping. If the hot stamping paper is in contact with the product but there is no pressure or the pressure is not enough, hot stamping will not happen. Use the transfer of hot stamping paper in different temperature ranges Two processes of cold stamping and hot stamping have been formed, and cold stamping has a great advantage in large-format paper stamping. In the position of the silk screen bronzing paste, only a lower temperature is required for bronzing, while in the place where there is no silk screen bronzing paste, a higher temperature is required.
For products without bronzing paste, it is necessary to ensure the best coordination of temperature and pressure. For example, paper, film and flat products need to be hot stamped, and only a flat silicone plate can be used to complete the hot stamping on the raised part that is higher than the product itself.
Therefore, when we consider the hot stamping process of flat products, we must understand that contact, pressure, and temperature are the three elements to complete hot stamping. We must avoid any contact between those positions that do not need hot stamping and hot stamping paper.
This can be roughly summarized as follows:
1) Hot stamping on the raised parts of the product: such as license plates, household appliance nameplates, and plastic text, only a flat silicone plate is required.
2) Hot stamping text and patterns on products, such as paper, gift boxes, cosmetic lids, need to make hot stamping plates or silicone molds.
